Neal Shipley leads the way at 6-under par
COLUMBUS, Ohio – Four Buckeyes are in red numbers after two rounds of the Puerto Rico Classic at the Grand Reserve Golf Club in Rio Grande, Puerto Rico. As a team, the Buckeyes posted a 5-under 283 and are in 11th place at 13-under par.
Neal Shipley made four birdies in his round of 2-under 70 and is 6-under par through 36 holes. That is tied for 20th with a round to play. Freshman Jack Vojtko matches Shipley with four birdies in a 2-under 70. He closed the round strong with a birdie-2 on the 235-yard par-3 eighth hole.
Maxwell Moldovan continued his run of under-par rounds with a 1-under 71, making four birdies in his round as well. He is 4-under par for the tournament.
Adam Wallin is the fourth Buckeye under-par after 36 holes as he countered three bogeys with three birdies and posted an even-par 72. That keeps him at 1-under par and tied for 57th.
Jackson Chandler carded a 1-over 73 on Monday while Patrick Schmucking shot a 79.
The leaderboard is tightly packed as the Buckeyes are just six shots out of six and just 10 shots away from third. A lot can happen in collegiate golf. The Buckeyes will play the final round with East Tennessee State and Wisconsin and will start on holes 10-12.
