COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State men’s lacrosse team’s three-game homestand comes to an end Tuesday when it hosts Bellarmine at Ohio State Lacrosse Stadium. First faceoff is set for 4 p.m. between the Buckeyes (2-0) and Knights (1-1).

Buckeyes In a Nutshell

  • Ohio State earned a 13-6 win over Cleveland State last Saturday to improve to 2-0 on the year.
  • Freshman Caleb Fyock made his first career start against the Vikings, making 10 saves in his collegiate debut to earn the win.
  • Tommy Burke went 15-for-20 from the faceoff dot and scooped up a team-high 11 ground balls in the game. He leads the Big Ten in faceoff win percentage (.674) entering the third week of the season and is tenth nationally.
  • Gannon Matthews scored two goals against Cleveland State to give himself a team-high seven goals and eight points on the year.
  • Ed Shean and Kurt Bruun paced the team with three points in the game. Alex Marinier (2G), Sam Burns (1G), Eli Fisher (1A) and Burke (1A) tallied their first career points for Ohio State against Cleveland State.
  • For the second straight game, the Buckeye defense allowed just two goals in the second half.
  • Ohio State starts the season with two wins for the third time in as many years. The Buckeyes have started the season 2-0 in eight of the last nine seasons.

History vs. Bellarmine

  • Tuesday’s meeting between Ohio State and Bellarmine is the first since the 2017 season.
  • The Buckeyes own a 10-1-0 record against the Knights and have won the last seven games in the all-time series.
  • The last time the teams met in Columbus was 2016, with Ohio State earning a 9-5 win over Bellarmine.
  • The first eight meetings between the teams, with the first occurring in the 2007 season, were as conference foes in the ECAC Lacrosse League and Great Western Lacrosse League.
