LAST TIME OUT
A Keaton Norris jumper with 11 seconds remaining gave Wright State a one-point lead, but Youngstown State responded with a basket on the other end to hand the Raiders an 88-86 road loss Thursday. Wright State was led by Brandon Noel’s 23 points and 12 rebounds, both game-highs, while Norris turned in 17 points. Jack Doumbia finished with 14 points and Alex Huibregtse was the final Raider in double figures with 12 points.
NOEL NOEL
Brandon Noel has notched back-to-back double-doubles against Detroit Mercy (Jan. 25) and Youngstown State (Jan. 30). He currently has six double-doubles to date and has four additional games one rebound shy of a double-double. Noel has recorded 20-plus points 12 times this season and currently has 25 such games in his career. He has recorded double-digits scoring in 20 of 23 games this season.
TRIPLES FOR AL
Alex Huibregtse has connected from long range in 31 straight games dating back to February 2024. He was held without a three-pointer just six times in 2023-24 (three in the first four games of the 23-24 season). The stretch is the longest three-point streak for the Raiders since Grant Benzinger connected on a triple in 34 straight contests between Jan, 29, 2017 and February 1, 2018.
NORRIS NOTE
Since returning from injury on Jan. 9, Keaton Norris has recorded double digits in six of seven games, including each of the last four contests. He tallied a career-high 21 points at Northern Kentucky on Jan. 18 and has eight overall double-digit scoring efforts this year.
(ROBERT) MORRIS TO COME
Wright State and RMU have met just 11 times, with Wright State taking seven of the nine meetings as Horizon League foes. The first meeting came Jan. 24, 1977 inside the old Physical Education Building on the Wright State campus – an 80-76 Raider victory. Robert Morris won the first meeting this season 75-72 on Jan. 12. Brandon Noel had 16 points, with Andrew Welage adding 14 points, Jack Doumbia notching 11 points and Keaton Norris adding 10 points.
COLONIAL ROAD
– Robert Morris is 16-7 overall and 8-4 in the Horizon League, coming off a Thursday home win to IU Indy. RMU has won six straight dating back to the first matchup with the Raiders on Jan. 12, but is just 5-5 on the road this season.
– Four players average double digits scoring, led by Kam Woods at 14.3 points/game, with Alvaro Folgueiras averaging a double-double with 12.9 points/game at 10.1 rebounds/game.
