Thierry made a career-high five triples on Sunday and the Buckeyes earned two wins last week.
Thierry led the Buckeyes to wins against then No. 8/10 Maryland and RV/No. 25 Nebraska last week by averaging 18.0 points, 6.0 rebounds and 2.5 steals per game. In the pair of games, Thierry shot 12-of-17 (.706) from the floor, 6-of-8 (.750) from behind the arc and made 6-of-7 free throw attempts.
In the Buckeyes’ first win against a top 10 opponent this season, Thierry finished with 13 points, five rebounds, a pair of assists, a pair of steals and a block. In OSU’s Sunday win at Nebraska (the Huskers’ first home loss in nearly one calendar year), Thierry scored a season-high 23 points (just two points shy of her career-high) and added seven rebounds, three steals and a block. She shot a whopping 8-of-10 (.800) and made a career-high five triples, shooting 71.4 percent from behind the arc. After Nebraska cut the Ohio State lead to one point with less than two-and-a-half minutes to play, Thierry hit a step back triple to give the Buckeyes some breathing room down the stretch.
She moved up to 18th in program history on Sunday as she now owns 619 career rebounds. This season, Thierry is averaging 11.0 points, 5.7 rebounds and 2.4 steals per game (which is tied for the most in the Big Ten).
