SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. — Cal Poly Director of Athletics Don Oberhelman announced recently that head men’s basketball coach John Smith will not be returning next season. 

“Thanks to John for his leadership and commitment to our university,” Oberhelman said. “We wish him the very best with what is next for him and his family.”

A national search for a replacement is underway.
