Wright State Raiders begin final week of regular season tonight hosting Purdue Fort Wayne

DAYTON – The Wright State men’s basketball team closes the regular season this week with a pair of home contests, beginning on Wednesday night when the Raiders welcome Purdue Fort Wayne to the Nutter Center for a 7 p.m. tipoff. Fans can follow the action several ways – via live stats, by watching on ESPN+ or by tuning in to the new home for Raider Basketball 101.5 HANK FM and WING 1410 AM. Chris Collins and Justin Kinner will have all the play-by-play on the television and radio feeds.

Fans can tune into 101.5 HANK FM live over the air in the Dayton metro area, as well stream the station live nationwide through a variety of free streaming apps. The iHeartRadio app, the TuneIn Radio app and the Audacy app are all FREE and each carry 101.5 HANK FM. Just search “101.5 HANK FM” on any of the three apps for Raider Basketball.

**Wright State has launched the Wright State Raiders app, allowing fans to stay up to date on Raider Basketball and all other sports. Fans are encouraged to use the Wright State Raiders app as the primary method for managing their digital tickets, which are required for entry to all WSU basketball events. Tickets for the 2023-24 basketball seasons are now uploaded and accessible on all purchaser accounts. Fans can easily view their tickets, download them to their mobile wallet, or transfer them to another individual account.**

LAST TIME OUT
Wright State tallied 14 of the first 16 points in the second half and never looked back on Sunday afternoon as the Raiders took care of Oakland 96-75 in their final road test of the regular season. Sparked by eight early second half points, Alex Huibregtse finished with a game-high 21 points on 8-of-12 shooting with five three-pointers, adding six assists, while AJ Braun turned in 20 points on 10-of-15 shooting with five rebounds and two blocks. Brandon Noel recorded his seventh double-double of the season – and sixth in Horizon League play – with a 19-point, 16-rebound effort.

COMPANY OF ONE
Thanks to Trey Calvin & Tanner Holden, Wright State is the only team in America with two players with 2,000-plus career points. Purdue (Zach Edey, Lance Jones) is the only other team with multiple players with 1,800-plus points.

HORIZON LEAGUE NOEL
Brandon Noel was been named the Horizon League Player of the Week on Feb. 26 after a 19-point, 16-rebound double-double in the Feb. 25 win over Oakland and just missing a double-double with 22 points and nine rebounds at Detroit Mercy on Feb. 22.

JOINING THE BOARD CLUB
With 16 rebounds on Feb. 26 at Oakland, Brandon Noel eclipsed 500 career rebounds – becoming the 23rd Raider in program history to reach the mark.

FORT WAYNE FACTS
Wright State leads the short series 12-5, including a 106-98 win in Fort Wayne back on January 6. Nine of the 14 all-time matchups came back during the 1980’s. The Raiders have won five of the last seven meetings dating back to the 2003-04 season.

DETAILS ON THE ‘DONS
-Purdue Fort Wayne is 18-11 overall with a 9-9 Horizon League mark. The ‘Dons loss to the Raiders on Jan. 6 was the start of a five-game losing streak, with PFW 5-9 since the turn of the calendar to 2024.
-Purdue Fort Wayne has held a lead in every game this season, except for Dec. 20 at Pitt and Jan. 6 at home against Wright State.

NATIONALLY SPEAKING. . .
Wright State currently leads the nation with its 53.4 percent overall season shooting percentage. The Raiders’ Effective FG Percentage (58.9 percent) is No. 2 and the Scoring Offense (86.2) is No. 5. Individually, Trey Calvin is No. 19 nationally with 196 FG made, while No. 38 nationally with 19.7 points/game average and is No. 21 with his 89.6 percent Free Throw Percentage. Calvin’s 551 total points are No. 29, while Tanner Holden (463 total points) is No. 111. Holden’s 171 FG made is No. 74 nationally.
