Iconic actress Gayle Hunnicutt dead at 80

Gayle Jenkins, Lady Jenkins (née Hunnicutt; February 6, 1943 – August 31, 2023) was an American film, television and stage actress. She made more than 30 film appearances.

She is best remembered for the final three seasons of Dallas, from 1989 to 1991, in which she played Vanessa Beaumont, an English aristocrat whose long-ago affair with JR Ewing produced a son he had never knew about.

Hunnicutt has written two books. The first, Health and Beauty in Motherhood, was published in 1984. In 2004, she published Dearest Virginia: Love Letters from a Cavalry Officer in the South Pacific, which contains the letters exchanged by her parents during World War II.

Hunnicutt died on August 31, 2023, at the age of 80.
