« LW Johnny Gaudreau notched his team-leading 12th multi-point game of the campaign with 1-1-2 and now has 2-4-6 in his last six games and 6-20-26 in his past 27 outings (13-31-44 in 46 GP). He improved to 10-15-25 in 31 career games vs. the Sharks, including points in eight of his last 11 games with five multi-point efforts against the club (6-9-15). He has recorded 9-7-16 in 15 career home games against San Jose.
BLUE JACKETS TEAM NOTES
- Columbus snapped its three-game losing streak with tonight’s win over the San Jose Sharks. The club also improved to 5-5-0 in the last 10 contests at Nationwide Arena dating back to Dec. 9.
- The Blue Jackets are now 12-8-1 in the last 21 games overall vs. the Sharks dating back to Feb. 21, 2012.
- Columbus improved to 3-1-0 in the last four meetings in the series at Nationwide Arena and 7-4-1 in the past 12.
- The winning team in the series has scored three or more goals in 21 of the last 22 meetings, including 13-straight.
- Columbus killed off the Sharks’ lone power play attempt tonight and has now killed off 14-of-16 Sharks’ power play chances in the last eight contests (87.5 pct.).
- CBJ have now killed off 17-of-18 opponent power play attempts over the last five games this season (94.4 pct.).
- With D Nick Blankenburg’s two assists tonight, the club’s blueliners have now registered 5-8-13 in the last seven contests and 21-49-70 in 46 games this season.
- The club’s rookies posted 0-4-4 tonight and have now recorded 11-12-23 over the last 15 outings and 24-30-54 in 46 games.
- CBJ have recorded 31 multi-goal periods this season, including scoring two goals in the second period and three goals in the third period tonight.
- Columbus improved to 4-1-1 against the Pacific Division in 2022-23. The club plays its next four games against the division through January 28.

« The Blue Jackets were led by LW Patrik Laine in shots (5), C Cole Sillinger in hits (5), D Nick Blankenburg in blocked shots (2) and D Erik Gudbranson in TOI (22:01).
« LW Patrik Laine tallied his eighth multi-point effort of the season with one goal and one assist to give him points in two-straight games (1-2-3) and 4-5-9 over the last seven contests (13-12-25 in 31 GP).
« C Jack Roslovic recorded his 22nd assist of the campaign to extend his points streak to five-straight games (1-5-6) and give him 3-17-20 in his last 25 outings since Dec. 1 (overall, 4-22-26 in 43 GP). He now has 4-2-6 in 11 career games vs. the Sharks with all of his points recorded in his last six contests.
« LW Gustav Nyquist tallied his fifth multi-point effort (1-1-2) and second game-winner of the season and now has 2-2-4 in the last four contests (overall, 10-12-22 in 46 GP). He now has registered 5-4-9 in 17 career games against San Jose, including 4-2-6 in his past six home outings.
« D Nick Blankenburg registered his first career NHL multi-assist game with two assists to give him points in two consecutive outings (1-2-3) and 1-3-4 in his last five games (overall, 3-4-7 in 13 GP).
« C Boone Jenner scored a goal and has now recorded 4-5-9 in his last 15 games played and 11-8-19 in his past 25 outings since Nov. 4. He improved to 6-4-10 in 15 career games against San Jose, including points in seven of his nine career home contests vs. the club (4-3-7).
« C Kent Johnson recorded his second multi-assist/third multi-point game of the campaign with two assists, giving him 0-3-3 in his last five games (overall, 8-13-21 in 43 GP).
« C Sean Kuraly scored a goal to improve to 9-4-13 in 44 appearances this season.
« D Andrew Peeke tallied his third assist of the season to give him 1-1-2 in his last four games (overall, 4-3-7 in 44 GP).
