Blue Jackets roster moves: Riley Nash to IR; call up Zac Dalpe and Liam Foudy from Taxi Squad

COLUMBUS, OHIO – The Columbus Blue Jackets have placed forward Riley Nash on Injured Reserve retroactive to April 4 and recalled forwards Zac Dalpe and Liam Foudy from the team’s taxi squad, club General Manager and Alternate Governor Jarmo Kekalainen announced today. 

Nash, 31, suffered a sprained knee in Sunday’s game at Florida and is expected to miss four-to-six weeks.  He has registered two goals and five assists for seven points with four penalty minutes in 37 games with Columbus this season.  The native of Consort, Alberta has notched 63-109-172 and 134 penalty minutes in 578 career NHL games with the Blue Jackets, Boston Bruins and Carolina Hurricanes since 2011-12.  Signed by Columbus as a free agent on July 1, 2018, he has recorded 10-23-33 and 33 penalty minutes in 179 career games with the club.  The 6-2, 188-pound forward was selected by Edmonton in the first round, 21st overall, in the 2007 NHL Draft.

Foudy, 21, has collected 0-3-3 with six penalty minutes in 16 games with the Blue Jackets this season and added 1-3-4 and a +2 plus/minus rating in four games with the American Hockey League’s Cleveland Monsters.  The 6-2, 193-pound forward has recorded 0-4-4, six penalty minutes and an “even” plus/minus rating in 18 career regular season games with the club since making his NHL debut in 2019-20.  The Scarborough, Ontario native, who added 1-1-2 in 10 outings during the 2020 Stanley Cup Playoffs, was selected by the Blue Jackets in the first round, 18th overall, at the 2018 NHL Draft.

Dalpe, 31, made his Blue Jackets season debut on March 30 at Tampa Bay and has skated in three games.  He has posted 12-13-25 and 36 penalty minutes in 144 career NHL games with the Blue Jackets, Minnesota Wild, Buffalo Sabres, Vancouver Canucks and Carolina Hurricanes since making his League debut in 2010-11.  The 6-2, 194-pound center has recorded 0-1-1 and 13 penalty minutes in 16 career contests with the Blue Jackets from 2017-21.  A native of Paris, Ontario, he has added 151-134-285, 185 penalty minutes and a cumulative +17 plus/minus rating in 383 career AHL games, including 3-1-4 and five penalty minutes in five outings with Cleveland in 2020-21.  Originally selected by Carolina in the second round, 45th overall, at the 2008 NHL Draft, Dalpe was claimed off waivers by Columbus on Feb. 27, 2017.
