NHL News: Senators’ Hayden Hodgson Fined for Boarding

NEW YORK (Oct. 1, 2025) – Ottawa Senators forward Hayden Hodgson has been fined $2,018.23, the maximum allowable under the Collective Bargaining Agreement, for boarding Montreal Canadiens forward Alex Newhook during NHL Preseason Game No. 69 in Quebec City on Tuesday, Sept. 30, the National Hockey League’s Department of Player Safety announced today.

 

The incident occurred at 16:47 of the second period. Hodgson was assessed a major penalty for boarding.

 

The money goes to the Players’ Emergency Assistance Fund.
