Reagan Cooper stars with 15 kills in Fury’s straight set loss at Atlanta, Thursday Night

ATLANTA – The Columbus Fury (8-12) were unable to keep their momentum going on the road as they fell in straight sets to the first-place Atlanta Vibe (19-5), 25-21, 25-19, 25-18. Reagan Cooper led the Fury with 14 kills and seven digs and put together her third-straight match hitting .470 or better.

Set One

The first set was close throughout but the Vibe were able to string together a couple of small runs to keep the Fury at a distance. Kendall Kipp and Cooper each had four kills in the set.

Set Two

Columbus made a few adjustments midway through the second set bringing in Tori Stringer to set and Jenaisya Moore came in for Megan Courtney Lush. Again, the Fury were able to keep things close, but the Atlanta made a couple of key runs that kept momentum in their favor. Cooper went 6-7 with just one error in the set.

Set Three

Atlanta carried their momentum into set three and were able to pull away to take a 15-10 lead. The Fury were able to get back within two, 18-16, but the Vibe closed the match on a 7-2 run to earn the sweep.

Standout Stats

  • Cooper has now hit .470 or better in each of her last three matches.
  • Kaitlyn Hord had a solid outing going 5-10 and tallying five positive block touches.
  • Four different players recorded five or more digs for the Fury.

Up Next

The Fury will be back at home on Saturday night when they host the Omaha Supernovas at 7:30 p.m. The match will be aired on CBS Sports Network.
