Ohio State’s Celeste Taylor Named to Big Ten Weekly Honor Roll

Celeste Taylor averaged 18.0 points, 5.0 steals, 4.5 assists and 3.5 rebounds per game in wins at Penn State and against Maryland.

COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Big Ten Conference announced its weekly awards on Monday. Graduate guard Celeste Taylor was named to the Big Ten Honor Roll for the first time. Taylor was previously named Big Ten Player of the Week on December 4.

Taylor led the Buckeyes to a pair of wins last week as they clinched the top seed in the Big Ten Tournament. Taylor averaged 18.0 points, 5.0 steals, 4.5 assists and 3.5 rebounds per game while shooting 50 percent from both the floor and three-point range. She began the week at Penn State with 16 points, to surpass 1,500 career points, and added season-highs in assists (7), steals (7) and three-pointers made (4). Taylor was 4-of-7 (.571) from long range and 6-of-12 (.500) from the floor against the Nittany Lions. In Sunday’s win against Maryland, Taylor matched her season-high 20 points and added five rebounds, three steals and two assists. She was 7-of-14 (.500) from the floor and added a trio of triples. This season, Taylor leads the Buckeyes with 60 steals, is second with 88 assists and is averaging 10.2 points per game.
