HENDERSON, Nev. – The Vegas Thrill (2-2) won their first home match in franchise history, defeating the San Diego Mojo (0-3) in a three set sweep (25-16, 25-15, 25-21), Monday night at the Dollar Loan Center Arena.
Opposite hitter Hippe Saskia recorded a team-high 13 points and 12 kills for the Thrill. Captain Alisha Glass Childress had 35 assists on the night, which was more than all Mojo players combined (33). Childress also tied with Saskia for a match-high 10 digs. Van Buskirk Layne contributed three blocks.
San Diego was led by Thomas-Ailara Temis’ 13 kills, Tomkom Nootsaras’ 17 assists and Venegas Medina Shara Maries’ 10 digs.
The Thrill dominated in most statistical categories, Vegas led the match in kills (45-37), assists (40-33), digs (45-39), and points (55-43). While the Mojo led in blocks (9-7).
