Columbus Fury Opponent, Vegas Thrill News: Thrill Falls To Orlando In Four Sets

HENDERSON, Nev. – The Vegas Thrill (2-3) lost in four sets (23-25, 18-25, 25-20, 28-30) to the Orlando Valkyries (3-3), Thursday night at the Dollar Loan Center Arena.

Thrill middle blocker Molly McCage scored the first point of the match with a kill, but the opening frame belonged to the Valkyries who took it 25-23. Orlando carried its momentum into the second set, winning it 25-18. Vegas responded with a 25-20 win in the third. The Thrill fought hard trying to force a fifth set, but Orlando secured the match in extras winning 30-28.

The Thrill were led by outside hitter Khat Bell’s 22 kills and 13 digs. Libero Kylie Murr had a match-high 21 digs, while setter Alisha Glass Childress dished out 41 assists. Vegas had a total of 11 blocks, McCage led the team with four blocks. McCage also recorded double-figures in kills with 11.

The Valkyries were paced by outside hitter Jill Gillen’s 21 kills and 10 digs. Outside hitter Adora Anae led the team in digs with 20, while libero Georgia Murphy and Gillen recorded double-figure digs with 16 and 10, respectively. Setter Wilma Rivera turned in a match-high 52 assists and middle blocker Kazmiere Brown recorded a match-high six blocks.
