2024 Tournament Will Be Played Nov. 25-27

LAHAINA, Hawai’i — The Maui Jim Maui Invitational announced that the 2024 tournament will return to the island of Maui after the wildfires in Maui caused a move of the tournament to Honolulu in 2023. The 41st annual tournament will return to the historic Lahaina Civic Center Nov. 25-27, 2024, and include five of the current top-20 teams in college basketball.
Auburn, Colorado, Dayton, Iowa St., Memphis, Michigan St., North Carolina and UConn will round out the 2024 field and compete in the 41st edition of the tournament that is regularly considered as the strongest early-season college basketball field. The field includes five teams currently ranked in the AP Top 25, including UConn (1), North Carolina (7), Iowa St. (10), Auburn (13) and Dayton (16).

Fans can purchase two types of travel packages, either a booster-based package that will include all three games for your school, one per day, or the all-tournament package which includes all 12 games of the Tournament. Travel packages include a minimum of five (5) nights at a Tournament host hotel, general admission or reserved Booster ticket, a Tommy Bahama gift card, Tournament gift, and gameday shuttle to/from the Lahaina Civic Center.
Tickets for the 2024 Tournament are set on a delayed digital delivery. Fans can expect digital tickets sent to their purchase email closer to the Tournament. Fans interested in ticket-only packages, single game, and kamaina tickets can continue to follow the Maui Invitational on social media and check the tournament website for the most up to date on sale information.
The Flyers will make their fifth Maui Jim Maui Invitational appearance in 2024. Dayton previously played in 2000, 2003, 2013 and 2019.
Dayton is 9-3 in its previous appearances at the Maui Jim Maui Invitational. In 2000, UD placed in third after upsetting No. 12 UConn and No. 6 Maryland. In 2003, the UD won the tournament title after knocking off Central Michigan, San Diego State and Hawai’i. The Flyers placed in third again in 2013 with victories over No. 12 Gonzaga and Cal. In 2019, Dayton was second, falling in overtime in the finals to fourth-ranked Kansas.
The 2024 Maui Jim Maui Invitational will be the 16th exempt tournament the Flyers have been a part of since 2008 (the Covid season was skipped).
