NKU Norse loses close home game to HL rival Wright State, 85-78 Sunday Afternoon

HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. – The Northern Kentucky men’s basketball program was on the wrong side of an 85-78 decision to Horizon League rival Wright State on NKU’s Homecoming inside Truist Arena on Sunday afternoon.

FINAL SCORE: Northern Kentucky – 78, Wright State – 85
LOCATION: Truist Arena – Highland Heights, Kentucky
RECORDS: NKU: 11-12 (6-6 HL), WSU: 13-11 (8-5 HL)

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
– Marques Warrick paced the Norse with 20 points, three rebounds, three assists and a steal. He took over second place all-time in school history in scoring for himself as he now sits at 2,027 career points. He trails NKU legend Drew McDonald by just 39 points for the top spot in program history.
– Michael Bradley had a huge game with 17 points, four helpers and a board. He played 33 minutes and did not turn the ball over a single time. It was the San Antonio, Texas native’s fourth game of the season with zero turnovers.
– Trey Robinson just missed out on a double-double with 15 points and nine boards. He also tied his career-best with four steals and added three assists. It was his 10th game of the year with double-digit points.
– Randall Pettus II posted another strong performance off the bench as the freshman went for 13 points and two boards. He was also very efficient against the Raiders as he went 3-of-5 from the field, 2-of-3 from beyond the arc and 5-of-6 from the charity stripe. He has averaged nearly nine points per game over his last five contests.
– LJ Wells finished with nine points, seven rebounds, a career-high five assists and three steals.
– Keeyan Itejere chipped in four points and three boards. He also tied his season and career-best with three swipes.
