YOUNGSTOWN, OH – The Wright State men’s basketball team went back-and-forth all night but came up just short Friday night in front of a national television audience, falling 81-71 at Youngstown State to close the three-game road trip.

Wright State (9-9, 4-3 Horizon) now returns home to the Nutter Center for a pair of home contests next week, beginning Thursday night against Green Bay.

Wright State went on to hold the lead for over 14 minutes in the first half and lead 34-32 at the break. A 10-3 Raider run midway through the second half pushed the Wright State lead up to nine points with 9:33 remaining, but the hosts chipped away from there, tying the game with six minutes to play before taking the lead for good one possession later.

Wright State saw four players finish in double figures scoring, led by Alex Huibregtse’s game-high 20 points as he added five rebounds and four assists on 8-of-13 shooting with 12 points in the second half. Trey Calvin finished with 16 points of his own, filling his stat line with four rebounds, four assists and a pair of steals, while AJ Braun tallied 10 of his 12 points in the first half. Tanner Holden finished with the night’s only double-double, chipping in 11 points and pulling down a game-high 12 rebounds.
