Ray Guy Award Ray’s 8 (Sept. 18) — Punter Tommy Doman was honored as one of Ray’s Eight by the Ray Guy Award for his performance in the Wolverines’ victory over Bowling Green. Doman punted three times for 139 yards in the game for a 46.3-yard average. That included his new career-long punt of 53 yards. Two of the three attempts pinned BGSU inside its own 20-yard line. Doman’s deep kicks and solid coverage from the punt coverage unit combined to allow no yards on the two punts that were returned; the unit also forced one fair catch. Doman also kicked off five times, delivering five touchbacks, to assist in the field position battle for the U-M defense.
