COLUMBUS – Columbus Crew midfielder Aidan Morris and goalkeeper Patrick Schulte have been selected by U.S. Men’s Under-23 Youth National Team head coach Marko Mitrovic to the final roster for a domestic training camp in Phoenix, Ariz., from Oct. 8-18.
The USA will face Mexico on Oct. 11 and Japan on Oct. 17 at Phoenix Rising Stadium. The camp is part of the team’s preparations for the 2024 Paris Olympics, which will be the first appearance for the U.S. U-23 MYNT in the Olympic Games since Beijing 2008.
Morris received his first senior call-up earlier this year, taking part in the annual January training camp. He made his international debut on Jan. 25, earning the start in a friendly against Serbia. The 21-year-old has a total of four senior caps. Morris represented the Black & Gold in the 2023 MLS All-Star Game and has started all 29 league matches in which he has appeared, tallying four goals and seven assists.
Schulte has previously represented the U.S. at the U-18 and U-20 levels. The 22-year-old most recently joined the U-20s for a training camp in January of 2020 that also included Morris and Crew 2’s Stuart Ritchie and Thomas Roberts. In his second season with the Crew, Schulte has recorded 89 saves and seven shutouts in 30 starts.
