Flyers Will Play At The Wildcats On Nov. 10
DAYTON – The University of Dayton and Northwestern University have jointly announced they will play a two-game series in men’s basketball.
Dayton and Northwestern will play the first game of a two-game contract on Friday, Nov. 10 at Welsh-Ryan Arena on Northwestern’s campus. The two teams will play at UD Arena during the 2024-25 season.
The Flyers and Wildcats have played four times previously. The first two games, both Dayton wins, were played on Dec. 22, 1972 (73-66 in the University of Dayton Invitational Tournament) and Dec. 27, 1997 (77-69 also at UD Arena). The Wildcats won the last two meetings on Dec. 5, 1998 (64-57 at Welsh-Ryan Arena) and Dec. 17, 2016 (67-64 at the United Center in the Chicago Legends).
Dayton was 22-12 in 2022-23, with second-place finishes in the Atlantic 10 in both the regular season and post-season tournament. The Flyers return three starters, including junior forward DaRon Holmes II, a two-All-Atlantic 10 pick and the Most Outstanding Player of the 2023 A-10 tournament. Northwestern was also 22-12. The Wildcats advanced to the second round of the 2023 NCAA tournament.
