CINCINNATI — The No. 13 Xavier University Musketeers, 16-4 overall and in first place in the BIG EAST Conference at 8-1, visit the No. 19 University of Connecticut Huskies, 16-5 overall and 5-5 in the BIG EAST, for a 6:30 p.m. clash on Wednesday night in Storrs, Conn.
Xavier won the first meeting this season 83-73 on Dec. 31 at Cintas Center.

Xavier, 16-4 overall, is in first place in the BIG EAST Conference at 8-1. This is XU’s best start ever after nine BIG EAST games. XU is in its 10th BIG EAST Conference season.
• Xavier is 13th in this week’s AP Poll and 12th in the USA Today Coaches Poll. XU is No. 25 in the NCAA’s NET ranking and No. 22 in the KenPom rankings.
• Xavier graduate student Souley Boum, XU’s leading scorer at 16.6 ppg. (tied for third in the BIG EAST), was named to the U.S. Basketball Writers Association’s Oscar Robertson Trophy Midseason Watch List and The Sporting News Midseason All-America Second Team.
• Xavier’s Souley Boum, who is second on the team and tied for fifth in the BIG EAST in assists at 5.1 apg., leads the team and is fourth in the BIG EAST in assist-to-turnover ratio at 2.8-to-1.0 for all games. For league games only Boum leads the BIG EAST in assist-to-turnover ratio at 5.0-to-1.0 and leads XU and is third in assists at 6.1 apg.
• Xavier junior Colby Jones leads XU in assists at 5.2 apg. (fourth in the BIG EAST) to go with 14.3 ppg. (16th in the BIG EAST).
• Xavier graduate student Jack Nunge is second on the team in scoring at 14.5 ppg. (15th in the BIG EAST) and is second on the team in rebounding at 8.1 rpg. (fifth in the BIG EAST), including double-doubles in three of the last four games. Nunge has grabbed 25 offensive rebounds over the last four games combined and is third in the BIG EAST at 3.1 orpg.
• Xavier senior Zach Freemantle was named to the BIG EAST Honor Roll (fifth weekly league honor this season) after averaging 24.0 points, 11.5 rebounds and 3.5 assists in games at DePaul and vs. Georgetown. He leads the team in rebounding at 8.5 rpg. (fourth in the BIG EAST) and is second in scoring at 15.4 ppg. (10th in the BIG EAST).
• Xavier’s scoring attack boasts four players in the top 20 in the BIG EAST: Souley Boum (tied for third at 16.6 ppg.), Zach Freemantle (10th at 15.4 ppg.), Jack Nunge (15th at 14.5 ppg.) and Colby Jones (16th at 14.3 ppg.). Adam Kunkel is a fifth double-figure scorer at 10.6 ppg.
• Xavier leads the nation in assists per game at 21.2 apg. In addition, XU is second in the BIG EAST and sixth in the nation in overall field goal percentage (.501) and is first in the BIG EAST and fifth in the nation in 3-point field goal percentage (.397). XU leads the BIG EAST in scoring at 84.1 ppg., which ranks eighth in the nation.
