Columbus Crew 2 continued its winning ways on Sunday afternoon at Lower.com Field with a 4-2 win over Toronto FC II. This win marked Crew 2’s seventh straight win, earning them the top spot in the Eastern conference MLS NEXT Pro standings.

Marco Micaletto started the scoring for the home team just seconds into the match. assisted by Noah Fuson. Despite dominating the opening moments, TFC II managed to score a goal in the 29th minute, as Steffen Yeates netted an equalizer against the run of play.

Jacen Russell-Rowe restored Crew 2’s lead with his sixth goal in the last six games, this time assisted by Mo Farsi in the 54th minute. Six minutes later, Russell-Rowe turned provider as he set up Fuson for a goal. Toronto responded with a goal in the 64th minute by Julian Altobelli, but Isaiah Parente scored the hosts’ fourth goal of the match in the 70th minute, as he finished off a cross from Fuson who bagged his second helper of the contest.

With the 4-2 victory, Crew 2 further showcased the team’s prolific offensive performance so far this season. Russell-Rowe’s six tallies have him as joint-leading goal scorer in MLS NEXT Pro, tied with Tacoma Defiance’s Alfonso Ocampo Chavez .
