New England Revolution News: Captain Gil leading the way on The Pitch

Carles Gil

In 2021, Revolution captain Carles Gil became the second player in club
history to take home the Landon Donovan Major League Soccer Most
Valuable Player award. Gil, who earned MLS Player of the Month for June,
an MLS All-Star selection, and the MLS Comeback Player of the Year
award, recorded 18 assists on the season- one shy of the club record.
Since his arrival in MLS in 2019, Gil has transformed the New England attack through his chance creation and attacking prowess. Despite missing
most of the 2020 campaign, Gil has compiled the most assists in MLS
since the start of the 2019 season across both the regular season and
playoffs:

When Gil thrives, so does New England. Dating back to the Spaniard’s

MLS career, boasting a 9-for-11 (82 percent) mark with New England since
signing in 2019, tied for third-most PK goals in club history with Steve Ralston
