Wright State Athletic News: Five Raiders receive NSCA 2022 All-American Athlete Award

Colorado Springs, CO – The National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) is proud to announce five Wright State student-athletes as 2022 All-American Athlete Strength and Conditioning Athlete of the Year Award recipients. This award recognizes athletic accomplishments and dedication to strength and conditioning, and each of the Raider student-athletes were nominated by Cole Pittsford, Wright State’s Director of Sports Performance.

Gehrig Anglin (Baseball), Andy Neff (Men’s Basketball), Harrison Rody (Men’s Soccer), Kaylin Helinski (Women’s Soccer) and Lainey Stephenson (Volleyball) each earned recognition.

“The Wright State Sports Performance staff is thrilled and honored to have five of our student-athletes selected to be Strength and Conditioning All-Americans,” Pittsford said. “These young men and women exemplify the qualities that we praise as a staff every day; leadership, intensity, and work ethic.”

Here’s what the Sports Performance staff had to say about each student-athlete:

GEHRIG ANGLIN – “Gehrig is a tremendous worker and because of his tireless effort has earned every opportunity that has come to him. He is a lead by example teammate and helps define the outstanding culture we have on the Wright State Baseball team.” – Cole Pittsford

ANDY NEFF – “Andy is, without question one of the hardest working student-athletes at Wright State University. The effort and energy he brings to the weight room is contagious and fuels teammate to match his drive.” – Cole Pittsford

HARRISON RODY – “Harrison has a mental toughness that thrives in the weight room. Always putting in extra work, pushing himself and his teammates. He is never satisfied and always wants to keep improving.” – Alyssa Crusey

KAYLIN HELINSKI – “Kaylin has come a long way since her freshman year. No one would have guessed she would be the one spending the most time in the weight room when she first got here. Now she is always putting in extra work. Provides a ton of energy to the team to keep everyone motivated.” – Alyssa Crusey

LAINEY STEPHENSON – “Lainey is a vocal leader on the court and in the weight room. Her infectious energy drives others to be better and has helped establish Wright State Volleyball into the program it is.” – Cole Pittsford
