Chicago White Sox announce three roster moves

April 24th, 2022

MINNEAPOLIS – Prior to Sunday’s series finale at Minnesota, the Chicago White Sox placed outfielder Eloy Jiménez on the 10-day injured list with a right hamstring strain, reinstated right-handed pitcher Lucas Giolito from the 10-day injured list and sent right-hander Ryan Burr on an injury rehabilitation assignment to Class AAA Charlotte.

Giolito, 27, will start this afternoon’s game at Target Field. He has been on the injured list since April 12 (retroactive to April 9) after suffering an abdominal strain in his Opening Day start at Detroit. Giolito allowed just one hit with six strikeouts over 4.0 scoreless IP before leaving the game.

Jiménez, 25, suffered the injury yesterday. He is 8-36 (.222) with a double, home run, seven RBI and two runs scored in 11 games this season.

Burr, 27, has been on the injured list since April 7 (retroactive to April 4) with a right shoulder strain.
