COLUMBUS – Columbus Crew today announced its regional television and radio broadcast schedule and talent team for the 2022 MLS campaign that begins when the Crew hosts Vancouver Whitecaps FC at Lower.com Field on Saturday, February 26 [3:30 p.m. ET / Bally Sports Ohio / 97.1 The Fan & 971TheFan.com (English), ColumbusCrew.com (Spanish)]. Bally Sports Ohio and Bally Sports Great Lakes are set to return and produce 30 of the Crew’s regionally televised contests in 2022. All Black & Gold matches are again slated to air on 97.1 The Fan in English, with the Spanish audio stream on ColumbusCrew.com.
“We are thrilled to partner with Bally Sports Ohio and 97.1 The Fan to bring the excitement of Crew soccer to our fans in their homes and on their phones,” said Crew President of Business Operations Kristin Bernert. “This season, we will add to the excitement at Lower.com Field, placing our broadcast crew right next to our supporters’ section, and we’ll hopefully celebrate a win postgame tomorrow at The Pub with T-Bone and Brandon.”
Coverage on Bally Sports Ohio and Bally Sports Great Lakes will include 30-minute Crew Live pre-game and post-game shows, with the coverage also set to stream live on the regional network’s app when a consumer authenticates through their pay-tv service. Neil Sika (play-by-play), Jordan Angeli (analyst) and Brett Hiltbrand (sideline/host) will return to anchor the Crew broadcast team.
New to 2022, the Bally broadcast desk will be located on the Northeast Concourse of Lower.com Field, allowing fans the opportunity to observe portions of the broadcast live and in-person.
On the radio front, Chris Doran is set to return the Crew’s English radio play-by-play voice. Juan Valladares also returns as the Spanish play-by-play voice of the Crew for his 14th season.
Doran will additionally keep fans up to date on all things Black & Gold with “Inside the Crew” on Tuesdays at 8 p.m. ET on 971 The Fan.
Special for Saturday, Crew supporters are encouraged to visit The Pub, which will continue to stay open for an hour after the final whistle, for a special, one-hour live episode taping of 971 The Fan’s “Bone and Beam United.”
