St. Louis Billikens Men’s Basketball News: Yuri Collins, a recent A-10 Player of the Week

ST. LOUIS – After helping Saint Louis to a win over Richmond in the Atlantic 10 Conference opener on Sunday, Yuri Collins has been named the A-10 Player of the Week, the league announced today.

Collins turned in a career scoring high with 24 points against the Spiders, the most by a Billiken player this season. His 10 field goals (10-of-17) and three 3-pointers (3-of-5) were career bests as well. In addition, Collins dished out a game-high eight assists, grabbed six rebounds, and posted two steals.

Through games of Jan. 2, Collins is tied for first in the NCAA in assists per game (7.9) and total assists (103). He is second in the A-10 and 21st nationally with 2.2 steals per game.

Over the last three games, Collins is averaging 17 points and 11.7 assists while shooting 63.6 percent (21-of-33) from the field and 62.5 percent (5-of-8) from 3-point range. Included in that stretch was a SLU single-game record 19 assists against Boston College on Dec. 11.
