COLUMBUS, OHIO – The Columbus Blue Jackets have recalled right wing Emil Bemstrom from the Cleveland Monsters and assigned defenseman Scott Harrington to the American Hockey League club, General Manager and Alternate Governor Jarmo Kekalainen announced today.

Bemstrom, 22, has registered a goal and two penalty minutes in three contests with the Monsters this season.  He made his AHL debut on December 3 vs. Milwaukee and notched his first goal one day later against the Admirals.  The winger missed the first 20 games of the NHL campaign after suffering an oblique strain in practice on October 12.

Harrington, 28, has collected 0-1-1 and four penalty minutes in six games with the Blue Jackets this season, last playing on October 31 at New Jersey.  He has registered 7-30-37 and 67 penalty minutes in 184 career games with the Blue Jackets since being acquired in a trade from the Toronto Maple Leafs on June 25, 2016.

The Kingston, Ontario native has recorded 7-31-38 and 75 penalty minutes in 209 career outings over eight seasons with the Blue Jackets, Maple Leafs and Pittsburgh Penguins since making his debut in 2014-15.  He has added 8-31-39 and 89 penalty minutes in 143 career AHL games from 2012-16.  He was originally selected by the Penguins in the second round, 54th overall, at the 2011 NHL Draft.

The Blue Jackets return to action on Thursday when they host the Anaheim Ducks.  Game time from Nationwide Arena is 7 p.m. ET.  The game will be broadcast live on Bally Sports Ohio and streamed on the Bally Sports app.  The game may also be heard on the Blue Jackets Radio Network, including flagship station Sports Radio 97.1 FM in Columbus.
