  • Ohio State defeated Tulsa 41-20 to improve to 2-1 on the season while Tulsa falls to 0-3.
  • Freshman running back TreVeyon Henderson broke the Ohio State freshman single-game rushing record with 277 yards, breaking Archie Griffin’s record of 239 yards against North Carolina in 1972.
  • Henderson’s 277 yards were the third-most rushing yards in a single game in program history. Only Eddie George (314 in 1995) and Trey Sermon (331 in 2020) had more rushing yards in a game.
  • Henderson rushed for 207 yards in the second half alone, which is also third-most in a single half in school history.
  • Since 2018, Ohio State has scored 40 or more points in 63.2 percent of its games (24 of 38). Ohio State passes Oklahoma and Clemson in this category with today’s 40-point game and is now second in the country behind only Alabama (76 percent).
  • Garrett Wilson led the receivers with six catches for 70 yards and a touchdown. This was his fourth-consecutive game with a touchdown reception.
  • Gee Scott Jr. caught his first career pass on a 16-yard reception from C.J. Stroud.
  • Chris Olave finished the day without a reception, snapping a streak of 17 consecutive games with a catch, dating to Oct. 5, 2019 vs. Michigan State.
  • Ohio State had 508 yards of total offense, the second consecutive game with over 500 yards of offense. The team is averaging 538.3 yards per game this season. The Buckeyes were just five yards shy of 500 yards in the season opener.
  • Sophomore Ronnie Hickman tallied nine tackles and has led the Buckeyes in tackles in three consecutive games.
  • Redshirt-freshman Cameron Martinez recorded his first career interception and returned it 61 yards for a touchdown. He also had three pass breakups in the game.
  • Freshman Tyleik Williams recorded his first career sack in the fourth quarter to force a critical Tulsa punt.
  • Announced attendance was 76,540. That is the lowest for a game at Ohio Stadium since Sept. 11, 1971, against Iowa, which had an announced attendance of 75,596.
  • Today’s game marks only the second meeting between Ohio State and Tulsa. Ohio State won the first meeting 48-3 in 2018.
