Texas Southern Men’s Basketball among 8 schools with 150+ Conference Wins in past 10 years according to FOX College Hoops

The Texas Southern men’s basketball team made headlines once again as one of only eight NCAA Basketball programs with 150-plus conference wins over the past 10 years in a stat provided by Fox College Hoops.

Since 2010-11, TSU has won 10-plus games in SWAC play with four seasons of 16 wins in an 18-game conference season. TSU has won five SWAC regular season titles during that span in addition to earning five berths to the NCAA Tournament, two NIT Tournament bids and a CIT Appearance. As evident by the low number of teams nationally who’ve achieved that feat during that span, it has been a total team effort as three head coaches, numerous assistant coaches, student-athletes and support staff have played a major role in the success of the program.

“I want to thank everyone involved with the program over the past decade as this is not an easy feat to accomplish,” said Vice President of Intercollegiate Athletics Kevin Granger. “Texas Southern basketball has a strong tradition dating back to its inception and there are a lot of sacrifices and demands everyone involved have to make in order to maintain and uphold a tradition. This stat is a testament to the foundation that has been set.”
