Today’s match is set to be the 22nd all-time regular-season meeting between the two sides.
In its last MLS regular-season match, Crew SC played the Philadelphia Union to a 0-0 draw at Historic Crew Stadium (April 18). Goalkeeper Eloy Room made five saves as he recorded his fourth consecutive clean sheet across all competitions, dating back to MLS Cup 2020 (December 12). Midfielder Alex Matan made his Black & Gold debut as an 88th minute substitute for Pedro Santos. Most recently, the Black & Gold played CF Monterrey to a 2-2 draw at home (April 28) in the First Leg of the 2021 Scotiabank Concacaf Champions League, with goals scored by defender Milton Valenzuela and midfielder Lucas Zelarayan.
The Crew leads in the all-time regular-season series with a record of 10-8-3. CF Montreal is currently tied for first place in the Eastern Conference standings with four points and a record of 1-0-1 and lead the Eastern Conference on goal differential.
