Honors keep coming in for North Texas softball pitcher Hope Trautwein; named NFCA Co-Pitcher of the Week

4/13/2021

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Senior Hope Trautwein has been named the Wilson/NFCA Co-Pitcher of the Week, the National Fastpitch Coaches Association announced on Tuesday. This is the first time in Trautwein’s career that she has earned such a weekly distinction.

The Pflugerville native earns the distinction after throwing the first perfect game in North Texas softball history with the performance being the only known 21-strikeout seven-inning perfect game in Division 1 softball history. The outing was just the second perfect game in Conference USA history and joins the two prior no-hitters the senior has thrown (at Mississippi Valley State in 2018 and at Sam Houston State in 2019). Trautwein has already been honored as the Conference USA Pitcher of the Week as well as the D1Softball Player of the Week.
