Minnesota Twins reduce 7 from roster by optioning one and reassigning six

Spring roster down to 36 players

FT. MYERS, FL – The Minnesota Twins announced today that they have optioned left-handed pitcher Lewis Thorpe to the alternate training site and have reassigned left-handed pitcher Andrew Albers, right-handed pitchers Luke FarrellIan HamiltonJuan Minaya and Glenn Sparkman, and catcher David Bañuelos to minor league camp.

With Opening Day one week away, the Twins currently have 36 active players in camp (8 non-roster): 16 pitchers (2 non-roster), 4 catchers (1 non-roster), 8 infielders (3 non-roster), 7 outfielders (2 non-roster) and 1 designated hitter.
