INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Max Abmas can add All-American to his growing resume as the Oral Roberts guard was named to the 2020-21 Associated Press All-America Honorable Mention Team Tuesday.
A threat with the ball in his hands, the Rockwall, Texas, native currently leads all of NCAA Division I basketball in scoring averaging 24.2 points per game, while also ranking second in The Summit League with a 1.7 assist to turnover ratio.
The Summit League Player of the Year, Abmas is the only NCAA player this season with multiple, 40-point games and posted 10-consecutive outings with at least 20 points. The sophomore’s 3.6 made 3-pointers per game ranks fourth in the nation and he’s already moved up to ninth in program history with 177 makes from distance in just two seasons.
Abmas is the first ORU men’s basketball player to earn All-America honors since Dominique Morrison in 2011-12 and becomes the 12th different player to pick up the designation.
