Atlantic 10 Champion St. Bonaventure and A-10 runner-up VCU were both selected to the the NCAA Tournament Field Sunday night, and four Atlantic 10 teams were named to the 16-team NIT field.
Four of the Atlantic 10’s six postseason opponents are teams that an A-10 program won a game against in 2020-21.
The Bonnies, who won the A-10 title Sunday, will be a No. 9 seed in the NCAA Tournament and will face No. 8 LSU in the East Regional on Saturday at 1:45 pm on TNT.
VCU is seeded 10th and will play No. 7 Oregon in the West Region on Saturday at 9:57 pm ET on TNT.
Additionally Saint Louis, which also qualified for the NIT, was named one of four replacement teams for the NCAA field, if a team is removed prior to the start of the NCAA Tournament due to COVID reasons.
The Billikens NIT draw is No. 4 Mississippi State. No. 1 seeded SLU will face the Bulldogs on March 20 at 5:00 pm on ESPN.
Richmond is the No. 2 seed in the same quadrant as Saint Louis, and wil open with No. 3 Toledo on March 17 at 7:00 pm on ESPN2.
Davidson is a No. 2 seed and will face No. 3 NC State on March 18 at 7:00 pm on ESPN.
Dayton made the NIT field as a No. 4 seed and will play No. 1 Memphis March 20 at noon on ESPN.
Davidson and Dayton will play at the UNT Coliseum in Denton, Texas while Saint Louis and Richmond will play at the Comerica Center in Frisco, Texas. The NIT semifinals and championship games, traditionally played in Madison Square Garden, will be held in the Frisco on March 27 and 28.
