MLB & MLBPA announce Weekly Covid-19 Testing results

Major League Baseball and the Major League Baseball Players Association jointly announced today the latest COVID-19 testing results conducted under MLB’s COVID-19 Health Monitoring & Testing Plan. The independent Utah laboratory has reported the following results during the past week:

Weekly Monitoring Testing:

  • 14,704 tests conducted, with 2 new positive tests (2 players); a 0.01% positive rate.

Total Monitoring Testing To Date:

  • 43,928 tests conducted, with 12 total positive tests (9 players, 3 staff members); a 0.03% positive rate. Nine (9) different Clubs had had a Covered Individual test positive during Monitoring Testing.

Total Testing (Monitoring + Intake Testing):

  • 49,281 tests conducted, with 27 total positive tests (21 players, 6 staff members); a 0.05% positive rate. Seventeen (17) different Clubs have had a Covered Individual test positive since the start of Intake Screening.
