Columbus Crew SC announces 2021 Preseason Schedule

Following training camp in Orlando, Crew SC opens the 2021 Scotiabank Concacaf Champions League against Real Esteli FC of Nicaragua

COLUMBUS – Columbus Crew SC today announced its preseason schedule ahead of the 2021 Major League Soccer season. Crew SC’s preseason schedule includes training camps in Chula Vista, California and Orlando, Florida. Following the training camp in Orlando, the Crew opens the 2021 Scotiabank Concacaf Champions League on the road against Nicaraguan side Real Esteli FC in the First Leg of the Round of 16, before hosting Real Esteli at home for the Second Leg. The Black & Gold are set to kick-off the 2021 MLS regular season in April with the League’s campaign beginning April 17. More information on the League schedule will be released by MLS at a later date.

The Black & Gold host their first training session of the year on March 3 following arrival to Chula Vista. Ahead of the team departure for California, Crew players report on February 24 to begin the required seven-day quarantine before entrance physicals in Central Ohio. The Club’s first training camp is slated to run from March 3-13. Crew SC will then hold training sessions in Central Ohio from March 17-20 before traveling to Orlando, Florida on March 21 for their second training camp (March 21-April 5). Potential friendly matches will be added throughout the preseason. Additional information on upcoming preseason media availabilities will be provided in the future.

Crew SC opens the 2021 Scotiabank Concacaf Champions League against Real Esteli FC of Nicaragua, who has won the last three Nicaraguan first division tournaments, including two Clausura tournaments (2019, 2020) and one Apertura tournament (2019). Crew SC plays the Nicaraguan side on the road in the First Leg of the tournament’s Round of 16 on April 8 [8:00 p.m. ET / TUDN] before hosting the Second Leg at historic Crew Stadium on April 15 [8:00 p.m. ET / TUDN]. Ticketing information for the Round of 16 home leg will be announced at a later date.
