COLUMBUS, Ohio – Two more Buckeyes have been honored with preseason watch list honors today. Graduated center Carson Hinzman has been named to the watch list of the Rimington Trophy and junior TE Max Klare has been named to the Mackey Award watch list. Ten different Buckeyes have been named to one or more watch lists so far this preseason.

Hinzman, from Spring Valley, Wisc., will be a leader on the offensive line in 2025 as he enters the campaign with 21 career starts to his credit and a total of 26 games played. Hinzman’s experience level includes starts in the final nine games of the 2024 national championship season with three starts at left guard vs. Penn State, Purdue and Northwestern and six at center in the final six games, vs. Indiana, Michigan, Tennessee, Oregon, Texas and Notre Dame. He helped Ohio State’s offense rank 7th nationally in fewest TFLs allowed per game (3.75) and 10th in fewest sacks allowed per game (1.0).

Klare, from Guilford, Ind., transferred to Ohio State last December from Purdue University. In 18 games as a Boilermaker, including 12 starts, he caught 73 passes for 881 yards and four touchdowns. He is part of an outstanding corps of tight ends for the Buckeyes this year, including senior Will Kacmarek, graduated Bennett Christian, junior Jelani Thurman and sophomore Max LeBlanc.
