COLUMBUS, Ohio – Ohio State junior guard Bruce Thornton has earned All-Big Ten honors for the second consecutive season. The Fairburn, Ga., native earned second team accolades by both the conference’s head coaches and media.

Thornton is enjoying the best year of his career. He is averaging a career-best 17.5 points per and has 12 20-point games. He also leads the Big Ten and is Top 10 nationally with a 3.23 assist-to-turnover ratio. Thornton is one of just three Power 5 players with at least 125 assists and fewer than 50 turnovers.

Thornton reached 1,000 career points early in the season and is currently just 34 points away from climbing into the Top 20 in program history. His next assist will be the 400th of his career and he will also rise into the Top 10 in that category.

He is also the 43rd Buckeye to earn All-Big Ten honors in multiple seasons and the first since E.J. Liddell in 2021 and 2022. Thornton was a third team honoree last season.

Redshirt-junior Kalen Etzler is Ohio State’s Sportsmanship Honoree this season. Etzler has been with the program for four seasons and has appeared in seven games this year, making both of his three-point attempts. Kalen will earn his marketing degree with a minor in economics this spring.
