Hit .667 with three multi-hit games last weekend in Florida
COLUMBUS, Ohio – After hitting .667 in four games this past weekend, Ohio State senior infielder Kaitlyn Farley is the Big Ten Player of the Week, the conference announced Monday afternoon.
Farley collected 10 hits in 15 at-bats as the Buckeyes defeated Cornell, Siena, North Florida and UCF to improve to 9-3-1 on the season. In a pair of Friday wins, she went 7-for-8 and hit a home run in each game with five RBI. Farley then added another home in Saturday’s 6-1 win over North Florida before going 2-for-4 in a 7-3 win on Saturday night over UCF. Farley reached base in 11 of her 16 plate appearances.
A native of Encinitas, Calif., Farley’s big weekend raised her season batting average to .357. She’s currently tied for the team lead with four home runs and has also drive in 10 runs. She’s currently on a five-game hitting streak and is batting .647 in that span with a .667 on-base percentage and nine runs scored.
