COLUMBUS, Ohio – Ohio State will complete its first Big Ten west coast trip by playing at USC on Wednesday evening. Tip-off is set for 10:30 p.m. ET and the game will be televised on BTN. Guy Haberman and Don MacLean will call the action.

The game can also be heard on the Ohio State Radio Network from Learfield. Paul Keels and former Buckeye captain Ron Stokes are on the call.

  • The teams have met seven times previously with Ohio State holding a slim 4-3 edge in those games.
  • The teams split a pair of home-and-home series in the 1990s with each team winning on its home floor. Overall, the Buckeyes are 1-2 all-time vs. the Trojans in Los Angeles.
  • In the seven previous meetings, the overall score is close as Ohio State has outscored USC by just six points, 484-478.
  • The Buckeyes are currently No. 34 in the NET rankings and No. 33 in Kenpom.
  • Ohio State is coming off a 69-61 setback at UCLA on Sunday on Bill Walton Day. With the big fella looking down from above, did the Buckeyes really have a chance? Bruce Thornton tried his best as he finished with a game-high 21 points to go along with three assists and two steals. Micah Parrish had 12 points and a team-high seven rebounds while John Mobley Jr. battled an illness and still made a pair of threes to finish with eight points.
  • Thornton has dished-out 34 assists over the last seven games and his 3.03 assist-to-turnover ratio on the season is tops in the Big Ten. He is also eighth in scoring at 17.3 ppg as he’s trying to become just the fourth Buckeye over the last 12 seasons to average 17 points per game.
  • Parrish is the only active player with more than 1,500 career points, 200 three-pointers, 200 steals and 750 rebounds. Yes, he’s played in a bunch of games (162 to be exact) but he has produced while he’s been out there.
  • Mobley Jr. has made a three-pointer in all but one game this season and his 68 three-pointers are second-most ever by an OSU freshman.
  • USC is returning from an east coast road trip that saw the Trojans fall at both Maryland and Rutgers. The Trojans also enter the game on a three-game skid. Desmond Claude leads the team in scoring at over 16 points per game. USC is in the top half of the league in three-point percentage while the Buckeyes are tops in the league in three-point percentage defense.
