The Buckeyes will be holding their annual Black History Month game on Wednesday against the Spartans.

COLUMBUS, Ohio – The No. 12/8 Ohio State women’s basketball team (23-4, 12-4 B1G) hosts No. 23/21 Michigan State (20-7, 10-6 B1G) on Wednesday in the Black History Month game. Tip-off is scheduled for 7 p.m. ET. The game will be broadcast on B1G+ and AM1460.
In honor of Black History Month, the African Youth League and other student organizations will be tabling on the concourse prior to the game. Zuvaa Afro-Caribbean dancers will perform at halftime.
Fans should arrive early as the first 1,000 in attendance will receive a free three-point foam finger.
- Ohio State earned its biggest home conference win in program history on Sunday, beating Purdue by a 98-46 margin. This was the first 50-point conference win since Jan. 8, 2015 at Indiana (103-49).
- The Buckeyes scored 55 points before halftime – the most in a half against a Big Ten opponent this season. The most recent time that Ohio State held an opponent to less than 50 points in a conference game was on Feb. 8, 2024 against Minnesota.
- Ajae Petty recorded her 900th career point and 700th career rebound as she earned her fifth double-double of the season with 12 points and 14 rebounds. Chance Gray (21), Jaloni Cambridge (20), Cotie McMahon (16) and Kennedy Cambridge (10) joined Petty in double figures.
- J. Cambridge was named Big Ten Freshman of the Week on Monday for the third time this season.
- Michigan State comes to Columbus with a 20-7 overall record and a 10-6 Big Ten record. The Spartans most recently beat Indiana on Sunday.
- The Spartans are 2-3 against ranked opponents this season, beating then No. 21 Iowa and No. 24 Michigan and falling to then No. 8 Maryland, No. 1 UCLA and No. 4 USC.
- Michigan State has a trio of players averaging double figures – Grace VanSlooten (15.5), Julia Ayrault (14.9) and Theryn Hallock (13.8). Ayrault leads MSU on the boards, averaging 7.7 rebounds per game.
- Ohio State leads 59-29 in the all-time series against Michigan State. The Buckeyes won both meetings with the Spartans last season, earning a 70-65 victory at home on Jan. 14, 2024 and an 86-71 win on the road on Feb. 11, 2024.
