TUESDAY: Miami continues conference play at Millett Hall against Toledo on Tuesday, Feb. 11 at 7 p.m. Miami is looking to extend its home win streak to 12 games this Tuesday (13 is the most in program history). Entering this game, the RedHawks rank fifth nationally in effective field goal percentage (0.578), ninth in three-point percentage (.393), 14th in field goal percentage (.492), 17th in threes per game (10.3), 29th in scoring offense (81.4), 33rd in turnovers forced per game (14.96) and 45th in turnover margin (2.7). Miami also leads the MAC in seven statistical categories, including steals per game (8.4).

RECENT ACTION: Evan Ipsaro totaled a team-high 15 points, while Eian Elmer and Brant Byers each scored 12 points as the Miami University men’s basketball team topped Troy 69-62 Saturday afternoon in the MAC-SBC Challenge. The RedHawks recorded at least 15 assists for the 10th time this season. Miami’s bench outscored Troy’s bench 35 to 15. Elmer and Peter Suder each recorded eight rebounds (tied for the most in the game). Suder led all players with six assists. Miami has now won 18 games for the first time since the 2006-07 season. With a 9-1 conference record, the RedHawks are off to their best start in MAC play since the 1998-99 season.

ABOUT TOLEDO: Toledo is coming off a 20-12 (14-4 MAC) season in 2023-24. Head coach Tod Kowalczyk is in his 15th season with the Rockets. Heading into the 2024-25 season, the MAC Men’s Basketball Preseason Coaches Poll picked the Rockets to finish fourth in the conference. Javan Simmons was a First Team Preseason All-MAC selection and Isaiah Adams was selected to the Preseason All-MAC Second Team.

Toledo is currently 15-8 (8-2 MAC), having won its last five games. They are currently third overall in the MAC standings. Toledo’s top scorers include Sonny Wilson (15.6), Sam Lewis (15.3), Simmons (12.3) and Adams (10.5). Adams and Wilson have each recorded a team-best 3.3 assists per game. Adams also leads the team in both steals (1.3) and blocks (0.7) per game. Simmons has recorded the most rebounds per game (6.6).

THE SERIES WITH THE ROCKETS: Tuesday will mark the 140th time Miami and Toledo have faced off. The RedHawks head into this game trailing 71-68 in the series. Miami has the advantage in Oxford, 42-23. The last time Miami faced off with the Rockets, the Red and White dropped 97-63 in Oxford on Mar. 5, 2024.

UP NEXT: The RedHawks travel to Western Michigan on Saturday, Feb. 15 at 2:30 p.m.

ROAD TO 1,000 POINTS: Junior guard Peter Suder has scored 976 total points in his career. Suder averaged 10.2 points per game (644 total points) at Berllarmine, and this season he leads the RedHawks with 14.4 points per game (332 points).

MID-MAJOR TOP 25 COACHES POLL: The Miami University men’s basketball team was selected to the Mid-Major Top 25® Poll for the fourth consecutive week last Monday. The RedHawks were picked No. 21 in the rankings after starting conference play 8-1. Now in its 26th season, the Mid-Major Top 25® is voted on by 31 Division I coaches. The RedHawks recently won eight straight games for the first time since the 1996-97 season. The Red and White also started conference play 6-0 for the first time since the 2005-06 season.

BALANCING ACT: There have been four games this year where six different RedHawks scored in double figures. Out of the 23 games Miami has played, there have also been ten different players who have led the team in scoring.
