Pregame and Postgame Coverage to Feature Analysts Representing Each Participating Nation as Wayne Gretzky, Henrik Lundqvist, Paul Bissonnette, Anson Carter, Tuukka Rask and Tony Granato Will Join Host Liam McHugh
NHL on TNT Regular Season Action Continues Tomorrow, Feb. 5: Bruins at Rangers (7 p.m. ET) & Oilers at Blackhawks (9:30 p.m. ET)
TNT Sports will exclusively present three Round-Robin stage games of the inaugural NHL 4 Nations Face-Off, an international best-on-best tournament featuring players from Canada, Finland, Sweden and the United States of America.
TNT, truTV and Max will feature studio commentators from each of the participating nations throughout two days of tournament coverage.
The action begins Wednesday, Feb. 12, when Sweden takes on Canada in Montreal at 8 p.m. ET in a game presented by Jersey Mike’s. Brendan Burke (USA) will provide play-by-play for the contest alongside ice-level analysis from Darren Pang (Canada) with reporting from Jackie Redmond (Canada). Pregame coverage will begin at 7 p.m. with NHL on TNT Faceoff presented by Verizon, featuring host Liam McHugh (USA) and analysts Wayne Gretzky (Canada), Paul Bissonnette (Canada) and Anson Carter (Canada).
Coverage continues with two games in Boston on Monday, Feb. 17, beginning at 1 p.m., when Jersey Mike’s presents Canada vs. Finland. Verizon will present the nightcap at 8 p.m. when Sweden takes on the United States. Kenny Albert (USA) will handle play-by-play duties for each contest, with analysis in the booth from Eddie Olczyk (USA), ice-level contributions from Brian Boucher (USA) and reporting from Redmond.
Monday’s pregame coverage of Canada vs. Finland begins at 12:30 p.m. when Tuukka Rask (Finland) joins Bissonnette, Carter and McHugh on the desk of NHL on TNT Faceoff presented by Verizon. An hour-long edition of NHL on TNT Faceoff presented by Verizon will precede Sweden vs. USA at 7 p.m., when Henrik Lundqvist (Sweden) and Tony Granato (USA) offer analysis next to Bissonnette, Carter and McHugh.
Throughout TNT Sports’ coverage, GEICO will sponsor the first intermission reports and Discover will sponsor the second intermission reports.
NHL on TNT’s final regular-season doubleheader before the 4 Nations Face-Off will air tomorrow, Feb. 5. The New York Rangers host the Boston Bruins in an Original Six matchup at 7 p.m. followed by a 9:30 p.m. contest between the Chicago Blackhawks and the visiting Edmonton Oilers. Albert, Boucher and Jody Shelley will call the opener from New York, while the crew of Burke, Pang and Redmond will be on hand in Chicago. Pregame coverage will commence at 6:30 p.m. with Lundqvist, Bissonnette, Carter and McHugh.
