DAYTON – The Wright State men’s basketball team hits the road for a midweek matchup at Youngstown State on Thursday night, with tipoff set for 6:30 p.m. Fans can follow the action several ways – via live stats, by watching on ESPN+ or by tuning in to the home for Raider Basketball 101.5 HANK FM and WING 1410 AM. Chris Collins and Justin Kinner will have all the play-by-play radio feed.

Wright State led from start to finish on Saturday afternoon as the Raiders saw three players tallying double digits, led by Brandon Noel’s double-double, on the way to a 67-50 Horizon League victory over Detroit Mercy inside the Nutter Center. Brandon Noel finished with 15 points and 12 rebounds for his fifth double-double of the season, while Keaton Norris tallied 12 points and Alex Huibregtse was the final Raider in double figures with 11 points.

Michael Imariagbe enters Thursday’s game with 999 career collegiate points over four seasons – a 10.9 points per game career average. Imariagbe logged his 557 points at McMurry College (2020-22) and then had 330 points last season at Houston Christian. Imariagbe currently has 11 games with five-plus points this season with a pair of double-digit performances.

Wright State won its Jan. 25 game against Detroit Mercy by 17 points despite shooting just 37.1 percent overall. The mark was the Raiders’ lowest shooting percentage in a win since a January 5, 2020 win at Detroit Mercy (36.2 percent).
PLAYIN’ PENGUINS
Wright State and Youngstown State will meet for the 71st time on Thursday night, with the Raiders holding a 50-20 lead in the all-time series. Youngstown State won the first-ever meeting on Jan. 29, 1977 (73-71) but the Raiders bounced back with a home win Jan. 28, 1978 (60-59) in the first of five straight wins early in the series. The last meeting between the two came in the Nutter Center back in mid-December, with the Raiders falling 80-70 despite Jack Doumbia and Brandon Noel tallying double-doubles.
YOUNGSTOWN TIDBITS
– Youngstown State is 13-9 overall with a 7-4 Horizon League mark, coming into Thursday having lost three of its last five (wins at Green Bay, vs. Penn State Shenango).
– Three YSU players are averaging double digits scoring, led by EJ Farmer at 14.2 points/game, with Nico Galette at 11.6 points/game and Ty Harper at 10.1 points/game.

Wright State has tallied 46 wins and counting when scoring 80 or more points the last three-plus seasons (46-11), dating back to the start of the 2021-22 campaign. The Raiders 11-28 when scoring less than 80 points over the same time span, with five wins this season (vs. Air Force, vs. Green Bay, vs. Oakland, at Northern Kentucky, vs. Detroit Mercy).
