TUESDAY: Miami returns home for its sixth conference game of the season versus Bowling Green on Tuesday, Jan. 21 at 7 p.m. The RedHawks are now 5-0 in conference play for the first time since the 2005-06 season. With a win on Tuesday, the RedHawks have a chance to win eight straight games for the first time since the 1996-97 season. Entering this game, Miami ranks fifth nationally in effective field goal percentage (0.589), sixth in three-point percentage (.403), eighth in field goal percentage (.499), ninth in threes per game (10.9), 26th in scoring offense (82.8), 29th in turnovers forced per game (15.47) and 29th in turnover margin (3.6). Miami also leads the MAC in eight statistical categories, including steals per game (8.6) and scoring margin (11.9).

LAST TIME OUT: The Miami University men’s basketball team claimed its seventh straight victory (the largest win streak since the 2005-06 season) against Kent State 70-61 Saturday afternoon. Brant Byers led Miami in scoring for the second consecutive game with 15 points, while Eian Elmer (14), Mekhi Cooper (12) and Antwone Woolfolk (10) added double figures.

ABOUT BOWLING GREEN: Bowling Green is coming off a 20-14 (10-8 MAC) season in 2023-24. Head coach Todd Simon is in his second season with the Falcons. Heading into the 2024-25 season, the MAC Men’s Basketball Preseason Coaches Poll picked the Falcons to finish fifth in the conference.

Bowling Green is currently 7-10 (2-3 MAC), having dropped its last game at home to Eastern Michigan 62-68. The Falcons have four players who average double figures in scoring, which includes MAC scoring leader Marcus Johnson (16.8), Derrick Butler (14.1), Javonte Campbell (13.9) and Trey Thomas (10.8). Campbell leads the team in both assists per game (2.7) and steals per game (1.4). Jamai Felt leads the team in rebounds per game (5.9) and blocks per game (1.5).

THE SERIES WITH THE FALCONS: Tuesday will mark the 153rd time Miami and Bowling Green have faced off. The RedHawks head into this game leading the series 91-61. Miami also leads the series in Oxford 52-19. The last time Miami faced off with the Falcons, the Red and White secured a 66-58 victory on Feb. 27, 2024 at Bowling Green.

UP NEXT: The RedHawks continue conference play by heading northeast to face off with Akron Saturday, Jan. 25 at 2 p.m.
