Xavier’s Zach Freemantle Earns A Spot On The BIG EAST Honor Roll

CINCINNATI — Xavier University graduate student Zach Freemantle has been named to the BIG EAST Conference Honor Roll for the second time this month after averaging 22.5 points, 8.5 rebounds, 4.0 assists and 1.5 steals per game in a pair of games last week vs. Morgan State and at Cincinnati.

Freemantle, who leads the team in scoring (fourth in the BIG EAST at 16.9 ppg.), is the only XU player that has scored in double figures in all 11 games. This is the longest single-season double-figure scoring streak of his career. In addition, he leads XU in rebounding (fourth in BIG EAST at 7.7 rpg.) and leads BIG EAST in defensive rebounding at 6.0 drpg.

Freemantle averaged 15.7 points, 8.7 boards and 1.7 steals in a 2-1 week against South Carolina, Michigan and South Carolina State to earn the honor on Dec. 2. He made the All-Tournament Team at the Ft. Myers Tip-Off.

Freemantle is one of three Musketeers to earn a spot on the weekly BIG EAST Honor Roll this season. Junior Ryan Conwell earned a spot on Nov. 18 and graduate student Dayvion McKnight made the list on Nov. 11.
