DAYTON – The Wright State men’s basketball team opens its Horizon League home schedule on Wednesday night as the Raiders welcome Youngstown State to the Nutter Center, with tipoff set for 7 p.m. Fans can follow the action several ways – watching on ESPN+, via live stats or by tuning in to the home for Raider Basketball 101.5 HANK FM and WING 1410 AM. Chris Collins and Jim Brown will have all the play-by-play on the radio television feeds.
Fans can tune into 101.5 HANK FM live over the air in the Dayton metro area, as well stream the station live nationwide through a variety of free streaming apps. The iHeartRadio app, the TuneIn Radio app and the Audacy app are all FREE and each carry 101.5 HANK FM. Just search “101.5 HANK FM” on any of the three apps for Raider Basketball.

Four players tallied double digit scoring nights, led by Brandon Noel’s double-double and a second half takeover from Jack Doumbia, as Wright State grabbed an 88-79 home win over Marshall last Wednesday night inside the Nutter Center. Noel finished the night with a game-high 21 points as he added 10 rebounds for his third double-double of the season. Doumbia took over in the second half, notching 18 of his 20 points over the final 20 minutes as he added eight rebounds and three blocks. Huibregtse tallied 12 points with a trio of three-pointers, including the dagger with 42 seconds remaining, with Drey Carter pouring in a season-best 11 points off the bench.
PLAYIN’ PENGUINS
Wright State and Youngstown State will meet for the 70th time on Wednesday night, with the Raiders holding a 50-19 lead in the all-time series. Youngstown State won the first-ever meeting on Jan. 29, 1977 (73-71) but the Raiders bounced back with a home win Jan. 28, 1978 (60-59) in the first of five straight wins early in the series.
YOUNGSTOWN TIDBITS
– Youngstown State is 6-5 overall and has won four straight contests, including Horizon League contests at RMU and home against Oakland.
– Guards Juwan Maxey and Jason Nelson have averaged a combined 26.7 points and 4.3 assists per game over the last three contests. Maxey averaged 14.3 points per game while Nelson averaged 12.3 points per game.
JACK OF ALL TRADES
Jack Doumbia has turned into a second half scorer for the Raiders, notching 34 of 41 total points in the second half of the last two contests (at Detroit Mercy, vs. Marshall). Doumbia has scored the majority of his points in the second half in three of his four double-digit scoring outputs (Detroit Mercy, Marshall, South Florida). Doumbia has tallied double digits scoring in five of the last six games and has reset his career high in scoring twice to date and has 10 games with eight-plus points. He’s been efficient too, shooting 58 percent. In addition, Doumbia has added multiple rebounds in 11 games – including three games with 10-plus boards.
STREAKS ARE WILD
–Alex Huibregtse has 12 straight double-digit scoring games and now has 21 straight double digit scoring games since last season. His 26 points Nov. 9 at Miami (OH) were the second-most he’s scored in a game behind his 32-point performance last January at Cleveland State.
–Brandon Noel has recorded double-digits scoring in 10 of 12 games this season and has recorded 10-plus points in 22 of his last 25 games. Noel has scored 20-plus points 21 times in his career to date with eight 20-plus point games this season.
