  • With its 20-13 victory, Ohio State’s record improved to 7-1 on the season and 4-1 in Big Ten play.
  • In the all-time series, Ohio State claimed its 25th win over the Nittany Lions and its 10th win at Beaver Stadium since Penn State joined the Big Ten in 1993.
    • The Buckeyes have won eight consecutive games over Penn State.
    • This is the eighth consecutive meeting that both teams have been ranked. Both teams have been ranked in 25 of the series’ 40 all-time meetings, with 12 of those being top 10 matchups.
    • This is only the second top five matchup of the series. The only other time the teams were both ranked in the top five was in 1996 when No. 3 Ohio State beat No. 4 Penn State by a 38-7 margin in Ohio Stadium.
  • Head coach Ryan Day owns a career record of 63-9 at Ohio State.
    • Against Big Ten opponents, he is now 43-4 overall and 22-3 on the road.
    • Day remains undefeated against Penn State with a career record of 6-0.
    • Coach Day collected his 10th career win against a top-10 opponent.
    • Day’s defense only allowed 150 passing yards and 120 rushing yards. He has improved his record to 50-1 when allowing 150 or less rushing yards and 25-1 when allowing 150 or less passing yards.
  • Will Howard finished the day with 182 yards and two touchdowns while completing 16 passes on 24 attempts.
    • Howard had a season-high 12 rushing attempts for a total of 24 yards, including a key 7-yard rush to seal the game.
  • Emeka Egbuka finished the day with three catches for 31 yards and a touchdown.
    • He has surpassed Cris Carter on the all-time career pass receptions list. Carter had 168 career receptions and Egbuka now has 170, which ranks fourth in program history.
    • Prior to the game, Emeka was tied for ninth on Ohio State’s all-time career touchdown receptions list with K.J. Hill at 20 receiving touchdowns. With his touchdown reception today, Egbuka is the sole owner of that ninth spot among the program’s all-time leaders.
  • Quinshon Judkins ran 14 times for a team-leading 95 yards. He also caught two passes for five yards.
    • In 2024, Judkins has 220 all-purpose yards and a touchdown reception against Penn State between this game and when he was with Mississippi playing against the Nittany Lions in the Peach Bowl earlier this calendar year.
  • Brandon Innis finished the day with 33 yards and a touchdown on two catches. This was the second touchdown reception of his career.
  • TreVeyon Henderson finished the day with 54 yards on 10 rushes. He also caught one pass for 20 yards.
    • Henderson joined the top-10 list for all-time career rushing yards and now ranks ninth after surpassing the career totals by Carlos Hyde and Keith Byars. Hyde accumulated 3,198 career rushing yards and Byars had 3,200. Henderson now has 3,248 career rushing yards.
  • Although his streak of scoring a touchdown in every game of his career ended, Jeremiah Smith had 55 receiving yards on four catches, leading the team in both categories.
    • His 55 receiving yards places brings his career total to 678, which is the most receiving yards by a true freshman in program history. The record was previously held by Cris Carter, who had 648.
    • Smith only needs three catches and one touchdown to be the sole owner of every true freshman receiving record.
  • The Ohio State defense saw 60 total tackles made by 19 different players.
    • Davison Igbinosun came away with a miraculous interception right before halftime to halt Penn State from capitalizing in the redzone. This was his second career interception with his first coming against Iowa earlier this year.
    • Cody Simon led the defense with 10 total tackles and registered a sack.
    • In his 20th career start, Sonny Styles tallied nine total tackles.
    • JT Tuimoloau was responsible for six tackles, a half sack and one and a half tackle-for-loss. He leads the team with 8.5 tackle-for-losses and has registered at least one in six consecutive games.
