Tip-Off Between Dayton & Xavier Is Set For 5 P.M. ET
CLEVELAND – The charity men’s basketball exhibition game between Dayton and Xavier on Sunday, Oct. 20 will be televised on Bally Sports Ohio, it was announced today. The game, whose cause is to Spotlight and drive awareness and education of mental health and wellness in adolescents and young adults, will tip-off at 5 p.m. ET. It will also be streamed on ESPN+.
“Televising and streaming this exhibition game is a unique opportunity to amplify the message we are sending about the importance of mental health awareness,” UD Vice-President and Director of Athletics Neil Sullivan said, “Everyone involved agrees that this cause is too important not to use every avenue available to us to help get the word out and keep the conversation going.”
There will be programming and content in the Arena and on the telecast about mental health and suicide prevention, and media and game timeouts will be used for special programming and public service announcements to promote mental health and wellness.
Proceeds for the game, which is sold out, will go to:
Jay’s Light Fund, a fund that honors Jayda Grant and will be used to champion adolescent and young adult mental health and suicide prevention. The fund will support local community organizations and initiatives that align with the mission of supporting adolescent and young adult mental health.

The exhibition game will re-air on Bally Sports Ohio and the Bally Sports app on Monday, October 21 at 12 a.m., 9 a.m., 1 p.m. and 5 p.m.
In two other items of schedule news, the University announced that its second exhibition game with Ashland will not be televised nor streamed. In addition, four more home game times have been established:
• Northwestern at Dayton on Saturday, Nov. 9 will tip at 7:30 p.m. ET
• George Mason at Dayton on Wednesday, Jan. 15 will tip at 7 p.m. ET
• Saint Joseph’s at Dayton on Friday, Jan. 24 will tip at 7:30 p.m. ET
• VCU at Dayton on Friday, Feb. 7 will tip at 7 p.m. ET
The remainder of the UD men’s basketball television schedule and times will be announced at a later date.
